Medium roast, 3 of 5 on our roast scale. Taken far enough to bring the caramel sweetness forward while leaving the citrus note in place.

Cooked-sugar sweetness that gives the cup its body.

THE ORIGIN

From Rwanda

Rwanda is a small country of steep hillsides, and its coffees lean towards sweetness and clarity rather than sheer weight. Caramel, warm spice and a gentle citrus lift are characteristic of the profile.

Twiga's Rwanda is certified USDA Organic and Fairtrade. We roast it in California and ship it whole bean, which matters on a coffee like this one where a good deal of the appeal is in the aroma.

Delicious Coffee!!

"After our first purchase, we just had to come back and purchase more when we were running out. We never tried Rwanda Coffee until we came across the Twiga Coffee Brand and we immediately fell in love with this coffee! We will always make sure we have some in house at all times!"

Nice for a medium roast

"I usually prefer dark roast"

Noel B. (5/5)

Excellent

"This is my sister's favorite coffee so it was a Christmas gift. We both love the small batch roast and the donation to wildlife preservation. Rwanda coffee is difficult enough to find but with all the "perks" with Twiga it's a sure bet."

Susan W. (5/5)

Q&A

GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

Is Twiga coffee whole bean or ground?

Whole bean. Every Twiga coffee ships as whole bean so the aromatics stay locked in until you grind. Grind just before you brew for the best cup.

How does the subscription work?

Choose Subscribe & Save at checkout and pick a delivery rhythm: every week, 2, 4, 8 or 16 weeks. You save 10% on every delivery, and you can skip, pause or cancel at any time from your account.

How does my purchase support wildlife conservation?

10% of proceeds donated to wildlife conservation. We partner with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, the Hirola Conservation Program and the Somali Giraffe Project.

What does Twiga's Rwanda taste like?

Caramel and warm cinnamon lead, with a light citrus note underneath that stops the sweetness sitting heavy. Rounded and easy to drink rather than sharp.

Is this a good coffee to start with?

It is one of the friendliest in the range. Sweet and familiar enough to enjoy black, without the sharp acidity that can make our Kenyan and Ethiopian coffees feel like hard work on a first cup.
