THE ORIGIN

From Sidamo, Ethiopia

Sidamo lies in the southern highlands of Ethiopia, one of the regions that built the country's reputation for aromatic, fruit-driven coffee. Cups from this area tend to be layered rather than dominated by any single flavour.

Twiga's Sidamo is certified USDA Organic and Fairtrade. We roast it in California to a medium profile and ship it whole bean, so the citrus edge and the floral lift are still there when you grind.

I love this coffee and

"I love this coffee and can’t always find this particular bean locally so I went online and gave Twiga a shot. They did not disappoint! I was initially drawn to the backstory of this company and the family who began it and I also appreciate the obvious that they do not charge a ridiculous amount of money for a good quality product and also to go beyond that to donate money back. I will definitely be back for another bag."

GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

Is Twiga coffee whole bean or ground?

Whole bean. Every Twiga coffee ships as whole bean so the aromatics stay locked in until you grind. Grind just before you brew for the best cup.

What does Ethiopia Sidamo taste like?

Berry and citrus arrive together at the front of the cup, with a soft floral note behind them. It is bright and clean rather than heavy, and the medium roast is set to keep it that way.

How is Sidamo different from Yirgacheffe?

Both come from southern Ethiopia and both are bright coffees. The difference sits in the third note: Sidamo turns towards citrus, while Yirgacheffe turns towards chocolate. Choose Sidamo if you want the zestier of the two.
